Sears #2068 Visalia, CA Closing Closing Tour!

Welcome to this mouth's blog post! This is the closing Sears in Visalia, CA located inside the Sequoia Mall. For some reason they built two malls on the same road within a mile of each other and this mall is the smaller and less busy of the two. Sears and Hobby Lobby (former Mervyn's) are the major anchors with Regal Cinemas and a furniture store as minor anchors. The indoor mall is small and has quite a few vacancy's. This was a company owned Sears location but in late 2018 they sold out to the developer that currently owns the rest of the mall. Plans have been submitted to the city for a new Regal Cinemas to be built behind the mall but so far nothing is planned for the Sears space. This Sears location has the current signage all around the mall.  Let's get to the pictures!

For the last of the pictures for this store here is the Sears optical located in the middle of the store

This is a short blog update from the closing Visalia, CA Sears! This location has to be the smallest Sears I've been too in a long time. I'm not sure what the SF is but it seemed small to me. The last day of business will be February 2, 2020 for this location. I wish the employees that well be losing their jobs well and I hope they can find a better job elsewhere. I more than likely will not make it back here before they close but I have visited the closing Sears in Fresno that will be the next update coming to the blog. Look out for the Kmart in Atascadero, CA as well coming soon to the blog!

Sears #1208 Fresno, CA Store Closing Tour! Happy New Year!

Welcome to the new year everyone! This will the the first new blog post this year and it is a closing Sears. This is the closing Sears in Fresno, CA inside the Manchester Center Mall. This Sears location open in 1956 with the mall. Sears is currently the only major anchor in this mall as the former Gottschalks has since been turned into a food court or restaurant row. There is a Regal theaters but it's not part of the mall proper and Cal Trans leases a portion of the mall. The Fresno police have a station here and the rest of the mall is office space or taken up by a local college. On my visit here it was the first day of the liquidation and they were just putting the sales signs up. This location is company owned (Seritage) also this store was in the process of downsizing and construction had already started to subdivide the downsized area into a Ross and dd's Discounts. This location had a Auto Center but it closed sometime ago. As you can see from the pictures this store was still fully stocked and staffed on my visit here. When you enter this store you are on the top floor and the basement level has the appliances and mattress area. Well let get to the pictures!

Let's head inside...

If you look straight ahead you will see the plastic sheet they have up that separates the downsized area from the current sales floor

Let's head downstairs...

That's a wrap for inside but let's that a look at what's going on outside as construction continues for the new stores...

That will signal the end of this Sears closing post for this store on the blog! The last day of business at this location is scheduled for February 2, 2020. I hope that I can make it back here for an update before the store closes. I've seen on other platforms that since this store is closing a few weeks early and they have already started laying off a lot of the staff. I wish everyone who is now or will be unemployed because of this company well and hope they find a new and better job with a more stable company. I have pictures from the closing Kmart in Atascadero, CA and the closing Sears in Visalia, CA to upload soon.
