Walmart #1826 Visalia, CA

Welcome to April everybody! Today I bring to you the first Walmart location to open in the city of Visalia on 8/4/92. This location is 127,154 SF and is currently still a Division 1 Non-Supercenter store. Visalia is now home to this store, a Supercenter and a Neighborhood Market. This location has the current blue/gray paint outside and the white/black signage inside. This current remodel occurred in July 2016 and prior to this the store still had the older logo on the outside which you can still see the scar even though they panted over it. As you walk into this store the Customer Service desk is to your left with the front restrooms just past it. Then the area where the McDonald's was is currently just walled off. McDonald's closed here during the latest remodel and I believe it had been inside of this Walmart since the radio grill closed in this store. Directly to the right of the former McDonald's is the cart corral and the registers. Just past the McDonald's you have the clothing departments on both sides of the aisle with shoes in the back left corner. Then you have the baby section, electronics, and toys along the back wall with sporting goods in the back right corner next to the auto center. Hardware along the right wall next to auto and the garden center upfront to the right. Pets, Cosmetics, health & beauty and the pharmacy on the front wall with foods directly across the aisle from the pharmacy. Lets get to the pictures!

The former retro looking McDonald's...

It's a shame McDonald's pulled out of this location. This Walmart seemed busy on my visit here but it's definitely not as busy as the Supercenter location across town. It looks like this store makes enough money to remodel but not to expand into a Supercenter. I'm not sure if Walmart uses a national company or a local one for painting but they really blotched the blue paint outside where the old logo was. There's room on both sides of the store for future expansion. They also use the handheld scanners here at the door to scan the receipts. Like I said in the last blog it's a shame it has come down to this to make sure people pay for there items. Well that's a wrap from the Non-Supercenter Walmart in Visalia, CA!
